'The finest English-style finger-picking guitarist of his generation' Jon Boden - Sam Carter released his debut album in 2009 and ever since there has been a mounting excitement about this songwriter, guitarist and singer. At the time he was an Emerging Artist In Residence at The Southbank Centre in London and has since supported Bellowhead on a UK tour and walked away with Horizon Award for best newcomer at the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Sam released his second album The No Testament in August 2012, causing a wave of media and audience attention for an album that saw Sam reach new heights in his songwriting. As a result he was invited to perform on BBC2's Later... with Jools Holland. He then worked on collaborations with Canadian songstress Catherine MacLellan, and performed in Pakistan with virtuoso South Asian classical musicians Sajid Hussain and Haroon Samuel. Another project culminated in a live TV performance on the BBC's Andrew Marr show. This was followed by work with Norwich-based group and long-time Chris Wood collaborators Big Sky Choir. His new album How The City Sings will be released in April 2016
